The Congregation of Prairie Street Mennonite Church is composed of many different, friendly people who enjoy worshiping together, good music and monthly potlucks. Many are involved in the local community and with local Mennonite organizations. The church itself, has been at the same address on Prairie Street since 1871. Prairie Street is a member of Mennonite Church USA and Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference.
Pastor Andrew Kreider was born and raised in London, England. He moved to the United States in 1990 when he married his wife Katie. Andrew was educated at Cambridge University in England and Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart Indiana. His education was enriched by his years as a restaurant employee in Massachusetts and a barn-painter in Indiana. In addition to his pastoral role, Andrew is a singer-songwriter and musician. Andrew and Katie have three children and live in Elkhart, IN.
Pastor Paula Snyder Belousek has been associate pastor at Prairie Street since September 2005. She hails from a small town in Ontario, Canada and came to the United States in 1990 to study at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, VA. Following the completion of her degree in psychology/special education, she spent the next six years living on both coasts of the USA, working with Mennonite organizations that served adults with developmental disabilities. In 2005, she completed a Masters of Divinity Degree at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary. She enjoys reading children's books and storytelling, knitting, gardening and taking walks with her husband, Darrin.
